A small school district in Rhode Island plans fire all of their teachers after they could not come to a contract agreement.
Apparently, they got the idea from Obama's Education Secretary. Maybe they are trying to break the union? I wonder if this is the first shot in a war against the NEA. Sounds interesting.

I saw an article the other day where California is looking to renegotiate all its union contracts as they expire this year. The contracts they say will be drastically different from the ones of the past. The NEA is one of the last big unions left I wouldn't doubt that they are looking to send a message to them.

I discussed with Irv several years ago on air the pensions and contracts the unions were entering into and how they would ever be paid. Irv felt the contracts ment nothing because they would not have the money in the end to live up to the contracts. It was like social security, you were never suppose to live long enough to collect that money you paid in.
